  • Full Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Pavia, and at IUSS Pavia, Italy;
  • Since 2004 he collaborates with the EUCENTRE Foundation, Pavia, where he has served first as Head of the Masonry structures division and now as Scientific Advisor of the Construction and Infrastructures Department;
  • Invited to participate in numerous scientific committees for the drafting of national and international structural codes.

His main research interests are the structural behaviour of masonry and reinforced concrete constructions and the relevant strategies and techniques of repair/rehabilitation/strengthening, with particular reference to seismic engineering.

    “Research, education and innovation in the protection of the cultural
    heritage” for the research project titled “Reduction of seismic risk of
    architectural heritage in India and Italy”.
